2022 Meeting in Ramon's Village Resort, Belize
On behalf of the Officers and Board Members, I am writing to invite you to join us at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Association of Medical and Graduate Departments of Biochemistry (AMGDB), being held at Ramon’s Village Resort, Jan 15-22, 2022 in San Pedro, Belize on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize (ramons.com). This venue offers a spectacular beach setting with fabulous recreational activities, most notably snorkeling and fishing on the second largest living barrier reef in the world.
The AMGDB meeting will provide opportunities for networking and sharing experiences and strategies for solving problems faced by us, as leaders of academic departments.
The meeting should be especially impactful for new and interim leaders of academic units, who we invite to participate in the “New Chair’s Boot Camp” that will provide input regarding life as a chair and impart our collective wisdom for navigating the opportunities and challenges of leadership.
In addition, we will have invited talks from external leaders on policy issues relevant to our missions, and research talks from new members.

Special Note: Ramons Village Resort will only take “Saturday to Saturday” reservations, so the check-in date is Saturday, Jan. 15 and the check-out date is Saturday, Jan. 22. You will have two nights after the meeting, should you wish to relax on the beach. Ramons Village is located in San Pedro (on Ambergris Caye). Flights to San Pedro include a short hop from Belize City. Also, we are considering a pre- or post-meeting trip to Caves Branch Adventure Lodge (www.cavesbranch.com).
